Thibault Rey
Thibault Rey works for Akretion, a historical actor of the Odoo community. As a web developer, he is one of the key players in the development of web solutions for e-commerce applications. He is at the base of the reflections that led to define another paradigm to Odoo for the development of web applications by using the most advanced technologies and concepts in this field. As such, he is one of the people behind Shopinvader.
This talk is a case study of an advanced B2B e-commerce solution based on Odoo enhanced with OCA modules and REST APIs based on Shopinvader.
Alcyon is one of the largest distributors of products for veterinary doctors in Belgium and Luxemburg.
Its e-commerce application has specific requirements such as advanced price lists per user profile, advanced search and sort, high availability, the capability to populate the cart while the ERP is in maintenance mode, and a lot of custom features that enhance the productivity of their customers.
The traditional approach of integrating Magento with Odoo cleared showed its limitations in such a context, and integrating the e-commerce front-end in the Odoo ERP was not satisfying the requirements either.
In this talk you will learn how it is possible to leverage Odoo, OCA modules and the Shopinvader architecture to create such a modern e-commerce web application.
