What can go wrong, will go wrong.
Lessons learned from over 20 years of IT-project management in SME.
To many non-IT people IT-project management seems like a black box. According to the Standish Group a considerable amount of IT-projects still fail. Examples of large IT-Projects failing at companies as famous as LIDL, the Otto Group or Liqui Molli resonate in press and media. But also smaller IT-projects in SME can fail.
According to the experience of the speaker almost no IT-projects fail because of purely technological or even predominantly technological reasons. Within this interactive talk the speaker is presenting his take on over 20 years of IT project management, outlining key factors such as stakeholder and expectation management, the practice of estimation, process and gap analysis, key user involvement, technology selection project methodology, top management support and more.
The talk contrasts scientific results with practical experience and sheds a special light on core agile practices like (Lean, Kiss, Kanban, Kaizen and more). The talk is relevant to IT-people and non-IT people alike.
