Getting way off topic but I'm OK with specific apps in some cases - e.g. stocktake, expenses - essentially closed special purpose apps. 

For more general ones, I'm not sure offline is so important.  It would be a ton easier to just wrap web in an app using a responsive layout and some additional controls. Then everything works, as with web.

DISCLAIMER: I don't know that much about mobile, just had a need.
