Re: New repository request: OCA/android-expenseby
I just realized. Because its odoo mobile framework there won't be a valid CLA either for most of the code. Not sure what the policy is these days on that case.
Please don't put several apps in the same repo. It would be a maintenance and management nightmare. If it comes to it, we could create and Android or Mobile PSC to coordinate.-sbiOn Tue, May 22, 2018 at 5:32 PM Jay Vora <firstname.lastname@example.org> wrote:I would go for odoo-android-Vertical.Like odoo-android-hr, odoo-android-project.Thanks.How about only "OCA/android-apps", when there will be 20 android-apps, it will be time to split per category...It is probably easier to find and easier to promote if all android-apps are together and there will be a technical consistency within the module.Publishing in OCA is helping a lot for visibility / discover-ability of the module. OCA could host this android-apps, then anyone can contribute and help to improve. Some people prefer dedicated apps, some people prefer a strong framework. OCA doesn't need to choose one or the other, both approach can live side by side.Of course you will need then an approach for merging offline/online capabilities, but that is another layer in my opinion.Regards.
POS is "easy" because the objects are dedicated to the offline app.
Working on Offline mode for warehouse is more challenging... (the same objects can be handled by online and offline users at the same time, meaning that you need to replay scenarii when getting online, check inconsistencies and resync...)Having a general framework for offline use is probably the good approach but not sure there is a global solution: I am more in favor of specific offline app for specific usage.--

It would be a ton easier to just wrap web in an app using a responsive layout and some additional controls. Then everything works, as with web.DISCLAIMER: I don't know that much about mobile, just had a need.I think we should work better in an approach like the PoS one, having a JS client with offline capabilities. A good framework for that would be better than creating thousand of Android/iOS/whatever applications.Regards.Hi,I have asked Thomas to provide some more feedback in this thread.Hello Jordi,Is this app works with customizations? To be precise, is it an android app designed to work with "out of the box" odoo expense app or an android app working like a android client (like odoo web client)? Without supporting customizations, such apps will have very limited capabilities.Thanks.2018-05-22 12:31 GMT+03:00 Jordi Ballester Alomar <email@example.com>:Dear OCA Contributors,Thomas Arbib from Falinwa would like to contribute to OCA their Android App to handle expenses. See https://github.com/FalinwaLimited/android-odoo-standard-expenseFollowing his request I would like to propose the creation of a new OCA repository OCA/android-expense-tracking, and define Falinwa's responsible dev team as maintainers.
