It makes sense that relative links work, as they do in GitHub, so the ideal would be to fix core and the Apps store.

As a workaround, can't we use URLs for the GitHub source raw image?

Another option is to have the Odoo Community website serve them. We could build something to automate their availability.

OCA has founds to has an s3 server or a simple shared hosting of files (it costs less than 10 dollar per month).

We can take care of the automation I think (maybe give a proper credential to s3 to contributors or something like that).

BUT YES, it should be nicer if Odoo itself has a proper logic, but I think they have other priorities now (and I share those).
