Wouldnot it be possible to have the (empty) v9 branch README listing the module corresponding content of v8.
This way v9 branch is empty BUT newcomers can get the list of possible modules to port to the branch.

Currently we created the constraint to have all modules in the branch for information purpose (which could probably solved via script) and for keeping some kind of history (which is not working due to fork and migration reasons).

Ok. Then as one of those people using code, I prefer to see all modules (ported AND unported) at once in the README.
