That is a good question actually.
One thing I can think of is to have different variants of a product based on humidity:
Product: Towel
Variant 1: 100% humidity
Variant 2: 50% humidity
Variant 3: Dry, 0% humidity
In Odoo 10 you can then have "drying" steps in the BoM that are for certain variants only:
I haven't checked whether this is in Odoo 8 as well. Which version are you using?
