probably a hardware update of the printer will be the easiest solution:

I don't know if for instance that mentioned fiscal printer  EPSON TM-m30 
is already supported by Odoo POS. Eventually the Odoo compatible EPSON TM-t88
will also be upgradeable with that hardware extension:

The hardware extension is currently not yet available.

Unfortunately i have a Epson TM-T20 as a sandbox environment, which obviously won't benefit 
from the option to plug in just a piece of hardware :-(

Maybe someone from Odoo SA is aware about that fiscal requirement.

as it's not clear for me, which language to take according to the history of that mailing list, I'll go for English. Maybe we also get support from an interested hacker abroad.

I am reaching out to you, because of the upcoming legal requirement of using a certified TSE in cash register systems, like our lovely POS module in Odoo is, see (https://kassensichv.net/) for clarifications.
I am currently evaluating the possibilities, but I am almost certain we have to use a cloud solution (what makes in case of Odoo the most sense anyway). While doing that I already spoke to https://fiskaly.com what offers a pretty promising TSE cloud solution with an API that seems to be quite "easy" to implement in Odoo and brings everything in one place.

So the question is: Does anybody of you face the same problem, because you have projects with PoS running and want to work on an open source solution, what can be used as a standard in Germany? I would be happy to connect and develop with you!

Short intro to myself, as I did not contribute to OCA yet and I am not known in the German Odoo scene:

I am working with Odoo since 2015, but manly in Canada (since my return to Germany remotely). Beside that, I have my own German projects as well, which I serve alone as developer and project manager. I would be very happy to build a network here in Germany to spread this workload, especially when it comes to European and German specific legal requirements, which everybody of us have to implement anyway. So why not working as a team, making it open source and getting the best quality possible for all of us and our projects?
