Re: Odoo & GDPR situation

Hi Samer, hi Tuomo, i think that maybe because people know that this is important and a clear strategic objective for the OCA but unfortunately hasn't got the highest urgency (with me being one of those having a high interest in that matter and nothing done contribution-wise so far). I think we should all first have a close look at your prior contribution in Google Docs https://docs.google.com/spreadsheets/d/19kf86qPevUMsF10r7-WZGUJql023qyvchr4Y2SaFqzk For me Odoo plays a twofold role in all the matter. First it is supposed to be a system that keeps track of rules and compliance with the entire organization on scope (think of it as a management information and documentation system) Second Odoo itself is certainly a system for which many of the regulations on GDPR will apply (if you just use it and do the first part outside Odoo) So first think is to answer the question which of both we address (first) or if we address both at the same time. For my part i would be mostly interested in working on the "management information and documentation system" notion (because i think for the other part there will be a larger audience and interest) Having said so GDPR is one thing but especially in Germany (since we are always among the early adopters of all rules, regulations and processes) have the BDSG which you can think of as an long existing national GDPR implementation BUT BDSG (as always with European regulations) only covers part of BDSG and has partly similiar but not identical aims. So with the whole GDPR project we shall be so flexible to reflect an even more granular scope than the one of GDPR that may be existing still in other European countries. In order not to render the whole project a dead end from the beginning it might be a good thing to start of with one of the most common denonminators of all such regulations, which is documents (even composed ones) and checklists (with timestamps and responsible signees) implemented having a clear PDCA cycle in mind. Maybe another good thing would be to schedule a google hangout or something similar where we all meet and synchronously kick the project off ?
