Just to compliment my argument:

- oerplib has all the features to build the connection and odoo's instrospection.
- cli is really easy with click http://click.pocoo.org/5/

Those 2 tools are the best combined.

we use it a lot to automate tasks, and run a simple script for an specific task (much more than pass the model by options) is really easy.

* If he would agree, do you think it is a good idea to host it in the OCA?

* Any volunteer for the maintenance (we are in) if we would bring it here?
