Nor sure if its the same, but I have found similar Issues with "related" (computed) fields.
I added a related field to a model, and then saving other data on it somehow also triggered a write operation on the related model, even though the related field was readonly in the form.

Other than adding the permission, I found that  making the related field readonly in the model also "solved", but I suspect of an ORM bug.
