Hi Andrei,
they are many.
1.) Odoo e-Commerce got robust
2.) Many predominantely Indian Partners contributed some form of App
Connectors to almost everything under apps.odoo.com (some do somehow
work, some do work if you customize them havily, some don't work). Non
of the uses the connector framwork (of the OCA)
3.) Akretion invented Shopinvader and contriuted it (absolutely worth
to look at)
4.) Transition from Magento 1 to Magento 2, Transisiton from Shopware 5
to Shopware 6
5.) A whole lot of technical reasons on load balanc, synchronisation
etc. to be considered
6.) classical shops are less and less important because all you need is
fast search, a catalog system, payment service integration and a cart
and many serious e-commerce companies nowadays use Vue, React and
Elastic instead of e-Commerce haviweights like Magento, Shopware,
Prestashop...
All in all i think we are just some 5-7 years down the line and to do
serious E-Commerce projects first question you should as as an
implementing partner is. What is the scope of the project... And than
the whole technical part becomes much more diverse than 5 years ago
where most people seemed to naturally answer (Magento, Shopware,
Prestashop or WooCommerce) because they had most experience with that
However these are just my 50 cent and there do exist many other takes
on the matter certainly. But if you port a connector to prestashop
please consider putting it under OCA umbrella. This would be definitely
beneficial for you AND the community
