[Magento2][Odoo 12] State of compatibility

Hello,
I would be very interested in making Magento 2.x and Odoo 12.x compatible. Is anyone aware of previous efforts to achieve this compatibility?
The PR waiting to migrate the Magento connector to Odoo 12 is only compatible with Magento 1.7+ (https://github.com/OCA/connector-magento/pull/292).
From a Github search, support for Magento 2.x is limited to v10 in the repos of F. Thomas (https://github.com/MindAndGo/connector-magento/tree/10.0-callino-rebase) and W. Pichler (https://github.com/wpichler/connector-magento/tree/10.0-callino-rebase). From the git log, they seem to be working together.
Has anyone installed one of these successfully? I've hit some errors when installing the cron jobs (of all things). Not showing the stack trace, but I can create an issue if that is relevant.
If these modules are not installable directly for v12, would anyone be able to estimate the effort needed to migrate these over to v12? I have excellent python skills but no previous Odoo development experience.
