From June 2 to 6, 2025, Cartagena became the stage for an extraordinary week for the Odoo ecosystem in Spain.
During the Spanish OCA Days (June 2–4) and the Odoo Days 2025 (June 5–6), the community came together to collaborate, share, and shape the future of a platform that has already become a key part of thousands of companies in the region.
Active Participation and Greater Diversity of Profiles
Achievements and Progress During the Spanish OCA Days
Over the course of the sprint, multiple milestones were reached, both technically and functionally. Some of the highlights include:
OpenUpgrade: Live Demonstration of a Key Tool
A technical session featured a live migration using OpenUpgrade, the community tool that allows databases to be upgraded from one Odoo version to another in a controlled manner.
The session clearly demonstrated its power and practical utility, especially in environments where preserving historical data and customizations is essential.
OWL and the Increasingly Strategic Role of the Frontend
Dedicated time was given to OWL, the JavaScript framework that underpins the modern Odoo frontend.
A technical talk focused on OWL explored its growing importance in the ecosystem, best development practices, and how it integrates with business logic.
The overall message was clear: the frontend is becoming a central part of delivering powerful and usable business solutions.

Discussions also covered the future of Verifactu in autonomous regions with their own specific requirements, such as the Canary Islands and Navarra, with teams sharing insights and experiences from these implementations.
Education and Training: The Role of Educational Institutions
A recurring topic in multiple conversations was the growing interest from vocational and technical training centers in incorporating Odoo into their programs.
During the OCA Days, educators and collaborators in the education sector exchanged ideas and experiences, recognizing that Odoo skills are becoming increasingly relevant in the job market.
Technical Progress Across Key Community Repositories
Sprint participants contributed significantly to several key OCA repositories, including PR merges, issue resolutions, enhancements, and new features.
