Has anyone come up with a list of benefits, constraints and considerations  regarding using or not using product variants?

 

The most obvious benefit for most users may be that for eCommerce, a more logical  user experience is possible with Variants than products because a buyer will see one product with ‘options’ instead of many individual products.

 

What about when it comes to maintenance of products (updates), Vendor and Customer Pricing, Inventory, Manufacturing, etc.
