One clarification: there are several areas where LGPL can be beneficial for the ecosystem. Basically, on website development and e-commerce through website. If you put website modules as AGPL, any other development based on it needs to be also in AGPL, which can limit the business possibilities around websites/e-commerce sites. If your key advantage is in your website, with AGPL you are forced to deliver your custom code, design and so on to any of the visitors of your website.

For these cases, I prefer to license these involved modules in LGPL.

Regards.

We won't change AGPL to LGPL as it would be against OCA commitement.

The OCA has no plan to mass commit a change of license. If the case, this kind of plan would be discussed in advanced and debated publicly.

Said so, any contributor is free to propose AGPL or LGPL (or even any license compatible with current core LGPL3) for their modules.

I think this won't - and shouldn't  -  happen.

AFAICR from the license discussions, the OCA recommends the AGPL license, rather than LGPL.
Also, the original authors license choice is expected to be respected.

Regarding the modules I created for the OCA, my personal position as author is that the should remain AGPL:
Having other people to create and sell commercial versions of them without asking me is something I wouldn't  like to happen.
