With MQT_DEP=PIP (which is set in .travis.yml in 14.0 branches), oca_dependencies.txt and requirements.txt are not used by travis.
With MQT_DEP=OCA or MQT_DEP absent, it still works like before.

So we can't say it's "dead" yet but let's see if we can do without.
