Re: Migration to version 9

On the general topic but slightly off topic.  Have we considered git subtree and separating the modules into single repos seriously (yet/again)?

I was planning to do an experiment next week, there seems to be a couple of minor technical issues in making it behave but for the given problem it could be really useful.

Also I will revive my original unported proposal, which was to rename __openerp__.py to __unported__.py which is an easy script.  That said, here we are talking about 9, and most 7 modules are unported to 8.0.  I am honestly in favour of removing them altogether unless they are working with that version which is what this proposal seems to do.  However I think it needs some extra work to incorporate Stephane's comments.  Would creating from 8.0 then deleting everything help?

But I will go with whatever the people who know git properly decide is best.  The proposal as it stands seems like it would work and I can understand it so it can't be that complex.

I would like to ask about modules from old versions which functionality make the same of Odoo core in v9.

Which modules to port and which modules to delete (possibly with a migration script) will need to be decided case by case.
It happened sometimes for 8.0 already with some OCA modules being deleted from the 8.0 branch because the functionality was implemented in Odoo 8.0.
This is done through the normal Pull Request process.
