Re: Odoo Hosting Infrastructure Management: Clouder // Buildout // travis2docker

I’m planning on using Clouder personally. My current working solution is Rancher, although I know Yannick is using Clouder in production.

We’re still working towards the goal of moving Clouder into OCA, but there’s quite a bit of work to be done in incubator before we can do that. We need to do a bit of work to get the code up to OCA standards, but we also need to switch around a bunch of things to make it more viable from a functional standpoint. We determined it would be better to perform the latter first in order to not spend effort on code we refactor anyways & allow us to get our own stuff online quicker.

Hi,

It seems that there are 2 main solutions available in the community for Odoo Hosting Infrastructure Management (host inventory, host preparation, deployment ...):
  • Clouder
  • Anybox Receipe
Both seems to be great tools and well documented.

Did I miss another great solution?

Which direction did you choose? Are you using your own tools or did you make the switch to one of them? Which one would you recommend?

Thanks,

Clouder (maintained 99% by Yannick Buron / goclouder > enter OCA umbrella?)
Should become part of OCA (here) but I did not see if it happened yet.

Anybox Buildout Receipe (maintained at 99% by Anybox)
People were interested in it (here), but I have the feeling that OCA is finally not using it.

Travis2docker maintained mostly by Vauxoo
This seems to be solving one part of the problem and is not a complete solution. Maybe it can be / is already included in one of the above.
