Re: OCA modules multi-company compatibility

Normally a non multi-company compliant module should be considered as buggy or incomplete. It has to be clearly identified in the known issues section of the README section, but the distance to be multi-company aware is most of the times very short: some company_id fields, some access rules, and not too much more, so when you detect a module with this problem, can contribute with the patch in a very short time.

I have to say also that currently a lot of modules in OCA doesn't suffer this problem, because they inherit modules that are already compliant, or because themselves implement the multi-company machinery, and those which do should be the minority.

Regards.

Dear All,

I was looking though various OCA modules and noticed that not all modules are designed to support multi company setup. In other words they work good when you have only one company in Odoo instance, but not working in multi-company environment.

Maybe we need to mark somehow if module is "multi-company compliant" directly in readme? Maybe there is an existing OCA rule on this topic?
