Re: Forward porting a moduleby
PS: Oh but during my journey I figured that the period lock date in version 12 is such a strong (including compliance) promise, that it would be chaotic to extend it.
To not forgo the "extend" use case, it seems advantageous to postpone the period lock date and early lock journals, possibly multiple times during a period lock.
Period is period,it requires indeed certain discipline, or pobably one not ought to call it period, otherwise.
I hope I exposed it intelligibly...

Hi Graeme,Cool! Thank you! Really helpful!I figured the original use case was somewhat incompletely spec'ed (at least in V12 context). What you mention is probably the only thing that makes truely sense, so I already ported it and reimplemented the way you describe ...But thanks nevertheless, I'll have a look!Best Regards,David A.El sáb., 2 feb. 2019, 3:57 a.m., Graeme Gellatly <email@example.com> escribió:You may want to check this module I wrote. It's quite different in implementation, it automatically locks journals on a time based policy, but basically does the same thing. e.g. You can say the Sales Journal is closed 8 days after end of month, or 20 days from transaction date. There is a counterpart module for partners as well in that repo.On Sat, Feb 2, 2019 at 3:07 AM David Arnold <firstname.lastname@example.org> wrote:Hi Alex, cool thanks, will go through it.It seems not linked here https://github.com/OCA/odoo-community.org/blob/master/website/Contribution/CONTRIBUTING.rstThat's why I didn't find it, so thanks for the pointer!Best Regards,David A.On Fri, Feb 1, 2019 at 9:02 AM Alex Comba <email@example.com> wrote:Hi David,On Fri, Feb 1, 2019 at 2:46 PM David Arnold <firstname.lastname@example.org> wrote:I'd like to forward port https://github.com/OCA/account-financial-tools/tree/10.0/account_journal_lock_date to Odoo Series 12.How would I do that preserving the history on that module file tree?--
