Hi Remi,

that should clarify my concerns and sound like some nice features.

Best Regards

Thank you Oleg and Christian for your feedback.

I realize that I should have explained a little more the purpose of the module : you may want to see this module as a different use case than the ones proposed by default Odoo behaviour.

This module creates a new type of track service for a service product in order to create project and tasks specific to this sale order, but only to track time spent internally, not to be reported in delivered quantities (for when you would anyhow invoice ordered quantities, not delivered ones).

In other words it mixes both Timesheet and Task track services, but would not report spent hours in sale order delivered quantity and it does not force you to define the Ordered quantity as hours (you can for instance define the price in days or as a packaged price and the module would recalculate the number of hours to assign a task from the resulting price).

On top of the above, this module adds a functionality to define default stages for created projects (meaning that any new project you create will be linked to these stages) and a default stage for tasks created from sale order (in our use case, by default a TODO stage is used).

Eventually, if noone believes that this module is relevant to be included in OCA, that's fine with us also :)

Best Regards,

This is standard Odoo functionality to create project and tasks and then could t timesheets on them (depending on defined on product settings).
As result tasks are auto created with preserved link to particular sales order line.

What your module adds on top of this?

Hi Remi,

Isn't that already possible with Odoo's default modules/apps? Just wondering.

Betreff: New module to create project and tasks with associated hours from Sale Order

Dear all,

we have been working lately on a module that creates projects and tasks based on sale order lines for Odoo v10.

Basically, you configure a number of products that would be transformed in tasks (with content of sale order line), and it calculates the amount of hours to assign to the project and each task based on the quoted amount.

I guess this could be interesting for the community, so we were thinking about where to push it in OCA repos ?

I know there is already a sale_order_project module in project repo which covers only the creation of project from sale order (but not tasks and not allocating time).

I guess that both could live in parallel since ours depends on sale_timesheet which may not be needed in some use case where you would only need to create project from sale order without caring about tasks and allocated time.

You can find the module here for now : https://github.com/lefilament/link_sale_project_tasks

What do you think ?

Thank you,

Best Regards,
